Stoneleigh Abbey is a hidden gem. It boasts a history of other noteable visitors like Bonnie Prince Charlie and Queen Victoria. Boasting splendour that can rival a palace. It's setting is tranquil and you can imagine the needed solace that it offered Charles at a dark time.
A magnificent painting of the King is on display. Originally hidden with 'painted over' flowers only to be discovered by someone who happened to spot eyes peering through them. A place truly of enthralling charm and unsung history.
