King Charles made a visit during his reign. The drawing room was built and the main hall enlarged for the occasion. 

Later visits whilst a prisoner at Holdenby house during English Civil war. Coming to Althorp to play bowls on bowling green lawn.

Freedom of the scenic grounds to explore is magical and harmonious

Althorp has enormous warmth and welcome. 

A credit to the Spencer family in all their time care and dedication to it through the ages.
